The machine includes a horizontal screw mixer fed with dosed amts. of solids and liqs. to form a foamed sand mixt., which can be fed via one or more shutter valves into one or more injectors. Each injector is located on a slide, so it can be driven between a mixer outlet and the piston of a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder (HPC); the piston drives the mixt. into a mould or core box. Each injector consists of an upper half fitted with a motor employed to rotate the lower half of the injector; and half contains blades, so the sand mixt. can be restirred to prevent blockage of the injector. Used esp. for making large cores of complex shape in heated core boxes.
