Transparent fire resistant multiple glazing system - with intumescent layers between glass, and frame designed to accept expansion

Laminated fire resistant panel, having light transmitting properties comprising one or more layers of intumescent material has at least one intumescent layer sandwiched between the outer sheets of the panel, and at least one such layer is immediately below the surface of the outer layer so as to form a groove extending the length of (part of) the periphery of the panel. The panel is mounted in a frame which fits into the groove so that the outer layers can move freely, on expansion, away from the intumescent layers between them.
