4-Hydroxy-3-pyridyl-thiazolidine-2-thiones of formula (I) are new: In the formulae, R1 is opt. branched, 1-4C alkyl in position 4,5, or 6 and R2 is H or opt. branched 1-4C alkyl. The cpds. may be administered orally, rectally or parenterally e.g. orally to adults in daily doses of 50-1000 mg. Typical cpds. are (I) where R1 = 6-methyl. Cpds. where R2 = H or 1-4C primary or secondary alkyl have predominantly structure (A) whilst R2 = t-butyl has predominantly structure (B).
