Wind driven generator with automatic blade pitch control - has centrifugal governor which feathers blades at high speed

A wind driven generator has blades (7a) of variable pitch which is controlled by a rod (13) actuated by a centrifugal governor fitted inside the hub (2). The rod (13) is connected to a sleeve with a curved slot which engages a roller (9) mounted on a crank arm extending radially from the blade root (3). The contour of the groove in the sleeve (11) is such that the pitch of blade is relatively large when stationary and reduces to a minimum with increasing speed and then increases with increasing speed until the blades are feathered at high wind speeds.
