Stove comprises (a) a cylindrical body of steel of steel plate having a capacity of about 200 l.; (b) twenty steel tubes 40/49, pierced with three holes 3 cm. in dia.; (c) twenty caps of sheet metal closing the ends of the tubes; and (d) a metal cover lined with asbestos for sealing the vessel. Stove is used for carbonising maize stalks after the grain has been removed from them. Over the height of the cylinder the tubes are arranged in five rings of four, offset to each other, and when burning commences, the tubes are closed in succession and the cover is put on.
