Carriage counter with electromagnetic pick=ups mounted on rails - uses two pick=ups at one rail and one pick=up at other at specified distances

To count carriages with bogie axle base smaller or greater than 2.6 m, three pick-ups are provided. Two pick-ups at one rail are at a distance of 2.6 m from each other. The third pick-up at the other rail is at a distance of 3.7 m from the farther pick-up. This arrangement discriminates among wagons and carriages having different number of axles, including those with bogies also having different numbers of axles distributed in various ways.
