The washing appts. has a support on which the pot is placed so that its outside surface is in contact with a rotating frusto-conical brush. The brush is mounted on ball bearings and is rotated by an electric motor. On the plate supporting the pot are mounted two cones (12, 13) which freely rotate about vertical axes. The inclination of their sides is identical to that of the pot and the brush. The cones support the rear of the pot as it is being cleaned and their positions are adjustable to permit a range of sizes of pot to be cleaned.
