Glass fibre reinforced polypropylene compsn. - contg. specified coupling agent and having improved mechanical properties

The reinforced compsn. contains as fibre-to-polymer coupling agent cpdS. of formula R/X n (I) where n is =2 pref. 2, 3 or 4, R is an organic gp. of valency n and x is a gp. of formula -T-(CH2)m-CR1=CHR2, where R1 is H or Me, m is 0 or 1, T is a single bond or -O-, -COO-, -CO-, -NHCO-, R2 is H or a 1-6C organic gp. The compsn. pref contains 1-50 wt.% glass fibres and 0.01-10 wt.% (I) w.r.t. fibres and polypropylene. The compsn has improved flexural strength, tensile strength and impact strength. It is partic. suitable for the prodn. of automobile parts (radiators, battery casings, ventilators) and of blanks that can be machine for replacing light alloys.
