Centrifugally moulding vessel with projecting flange - has mould with recess shallower than thermal shrinkage of flange during cooling

Vessels, with moulded-in projecting outlet flange, are centrifugally moulded in a tool with a main part plus a cover through which the complete vessel is finally removed. The main part is recessed to form the flange and the depth of the recess is less than the thermal shrinkage of the moulded flange depth when the vessel cools. Rapid cooling of flange and neighbouring area is effected, there is access to the flange to support the moulding during its ejection and the end of the flange can be put off before the vessel is ejected.
