P Machine using a high pressure water jet which is created by a pump controlled by an electric motor. The casing 2, 3 of the motor and of the pump forms a closed common working chamber 8 in which the rotor 19 of the electric motor 9 and the control 28 of the pump 10 are mounted on a common shaft 11, this chamber being filled with an electrically non-conductive coolant so that the pump 10 and the motor 9 are immersed, the parts of the pump 10 as well as the inlet and outlet pipes 36 and 38 in which the washing liquid circulates are in direct contact with the coolant and form a heat exchanger with the latter, discharge members such as 46 imposing forced circulation on the coolant. /P P Application to all high pressure water jet cleaning machines. /P
