Permanent shutter for eaves beam in concrete roof - uses asymmetric U=section units orientated with long leg out and other supporting soffit forms

The precast concrete units are incorporated in the eaves of a flat in situ reinforced concrete roof, constituting a permanent shutter for a roof eaves beam. They provide support for permanent soffit forms, and have an assymetric 'U' section. With the longer leg (6) external, the units are placed in a line along the head of a brick wall or similar, and a top horizontal surface to the inner legs (7) locates the ends of the soffit forms. Once units and soffit forms are in position reinforcement is fixed, and the roof is then completed by the placement of in situ concrete. The external leg may have a nominal taper and curves (9, 10) may be provided in the internal angles. The base of the unit includes longitudinal grooves (11) by which it is keyed to the head of the wall.
