The appliance uses an external supply of compressed air. A venturi converts the air pressure to a vacuum which is indicated on a gauge. A flexible hose with a thin rigid pipe attached to its end is inserted into the engine dip-stick hole. A transparent sleeve in the line permits the inspection of oil flow into the tank and the pump stops automatically when the sump is empty, so that no compressed air is wasted. The top section of the tank is removable for emptying of waste oil.
