The plough comprises several ploughshares fitted to a chassis (52) drawn behind a tractor. Each ploughshare unit (61, 62, 63) is double-ended and has a central shank (56) which is enlarged at the free end. This houses a magnet (60) located between upper and lower rollers (57, 58). The rollers from fulcrums and can seat into seatings (54, 55) formed in another magnet (59), facing the first and fixed to the chassis. The mutual attraction between the magnets holds the tools in position against the resistance of varying soil conditions, releasing them a limited amount when a large enough force is applied.
