The switch has a housing with terminal contacts and the actuator has a cam engaged by a guide pin (9), movably mounted in the housing. In cooperation with the cam the pin determines the starting position and the functional position (1) of the actuator(7). At least a second functional position (11) follows the first one. The second position is determined by the guide pin after exceeding a flexible pressure point (10) within the cam (8). This point is preferably formed by a sprung element (14) with corresponding angular bend. This spring may be clamped at one or both ends in the actuator, and may be of plastics. The cam configuration may determine, in conjunction with the guide pin, one of the functional positions and the return into the starting position.
