Extn. of uranium from wet process phosphoric acid - using neutral phosphine oxide, pref. di-N-hexyl octoxy:methyl phosphine oxide and organo-phosphoric or phosphonic acid (J5 18.6.80)
Process for the extraction of uranium present in phosphoric acid solutions by extraction with a solvent system comprising an organophosphorus acid and a neutral phosphine oxide of formula R1R2R3P=O (I). Pref the organophosphorus acid is a cpd. of formula (II) or (III). Used for extn. of all from phosphoric acid solutions esp. from wet process phosphoric acid. Process gives good extraction. levels from relatively high concns. e.g. 8M of phosphoric acid (I) has good solubility in the inert diluents used for this type of extraction.
