Thresher to remove leaves from heads of maize - has contra rotating rubber stripper blades below, and rotating conveyor rollers over inclined plane

The thresher has an inclined frame (1) mounted on wheels (3) and on adjustable legs (4). Its bed comprises pairs of longitudinal contra-rotating rollers (9) driven through gearing (23 to 27). These rollers have a lobed cross section and rotating rubber blades which strip the leaves from the maize heads, this waste dropping into a receptacle (29) underneath for removal by a screw flight (30). The heads are loaded into a hopper (7) at the rear and are fed over the bed rollers by conveyor rollers (31) rotating transversely above. These rollers ae equipped with flexible rubber fingers (32).
