MEASURING METHOD FOR SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF REFRACTORY SUBSTANCE INSIDE FURNACE

PURPOSE:To find the surface temperature of the refractory substance inside a furnace accurately from the distance between temperature measuring terminals and from the thermal conductivity of the refractory substance inside the furnace by burying a plurality of the temperature measuring terminals in the refractory substance wherein the temperature gradient is produced, in the direction of its thickness. CONSTITUTION:Temperature measuring terminals B and C, such as thermocouples, are buried in the several places of the refractory substance 1 inside an incinerator 10 or the like for burning industrial waste, in the direction of the thickness of the substance, and signals outputted therefrom are inputted in a microcomputer 11, where prescribed operations are performed. Based on the results of the operations, the degree of the opening of a fuel metering valve 5 is adjusted to increase or decrease the quantity of the fuel to be supplied. Accordingly, the temperature of the surface S of the refractory substance 1 inside the incinerator can be found accurately from a formula expressing the relation of the distance l between the temperature measuring terminals B and C with the thermal conductivity of the substance 1, whereby the rise in the surface temperature of the substance 1 is prevented and thus the life of the substance is prolonged. Moreover, the breakage of the measuring terminals and the like can be prevented, since it becomes unnecessary to insert the measuring terminals into the incinerator.
