DRINK CONTAINING FRACTIONATED SUBSTANCE OF ALOE ARBORESCENS MILL. VAR. NATALENSIS BERG.

PURPOSE:An odorless drink, containing a fractionated substance of Aloe arborescens Mill. var. natalensis Berg., particularly suitable for a health drink having a good taste without bitterness, and prepared by the extraction of a tree sap or an extract of the Aloe arborescens Mill. var. natalensis Berg. with a water-soluble solvent, and the treatment of the extract thus obtained with active carbon. CONSTITUTION:A tree sap or an extract of Aloe arborescens Mill. var. natalensis Berg. is subjected to the chromatography with active carbon, and a water-soluble solvent, e.g. methanol, ethanol or acetone, is added to the resultant effluent to remove the deposited precipitate and collect an extract. Alternatively, the water- soluble solvent is added to the tree sap or extract of the Aloe arborescens Mill. var. natalensis Berg. to remove the deposited precipitate, and the resultant extract is concentrated to give a solid, which is then dissolved in water and subjected to the column chromatography with active carbon to collect the effluent.
