PURPOSE:To efficiently use space inside automated warehouse by making the width of stacker crane almost the same as that of the inventory to be handled. CONSTITUTION:Loading table 3 travels vertically on lifting bed 2 driven by a motor 4 running along a column 1. Stacker crane travels on rails 17, 18 by means of travelling motor 12. Tray 22 having hook lever 23 carries commodity W from shelves 24, 24a or to shelves. If loading table 3 is set at the position of stock shelf 24 from which commodity is shipped out, chain 25 travels through the intermediary of chain 41 and guide roller 64 slides upward. Then hook 28 is set at a position where hook lever 23 of tray 22 is hooked by the action of arms 63, 66, cam 65 and arm 75.
