PURPOSE:Sesame, after oil extraction, or roasted and ground sesame is mixed with starting materials and they are subjected to brewing to produce the sesame shochu free from a strong smell characterized by ''shochu'' and a burnt smell. Further, it has good smell instead and mellow taste, and shows tonic and laxative effects. CONSTITUTION:When ''shochu'' (a Japanese distilled alcoholic beverage) is brewed from rice or sweet potato, sesame after oil extraction, or roasted and ground sesame is added to the starting materials for brewing in an adequate amount, for example, at the second fermentation of the primary fermentation mixture.
