To prepare the composition, stannous chloride, iodide, or bromide is added to an acidified solution of human serum albumin, the pH is adjusted to the isoelectric point to form the macroaggregates, supernatant liquid is removed, the residue is resuspended in water, saline solution, or a solution containing dextrose or a sulphonate, and Tc- 99 m solution is added. The composition may be injected into the body and the amount of aggregates retained in the lungs, liver, spleen, or bone marrow measured by scintiscanning.
