Transporter for battery hens from cages - has overlapping sections and tapering channels towards discharge ends

The transporter, is used for conveying chickens from their cages in a poultry house. The transporter consists of loosely connected sections (1) each with a conveyor belt (2). It has two side plates (3) and a grid (4) with two hinged sections and an intermediate fixed section. The discharge end of the conveyor belt of each section is higher than the feed end. The sections are joined in such a way that the discharge end of each section overlaps the next section along. Each section has its own driving motor (8) with a side sprocket drive (9). Each section has also a plug (15) and socket to make electrical connections between adjacent sections.
