The glass profile is accommodated in a groove in a window frame and involves two parts, of which the first (1) has a U-shaped cross section and legs (7) of differing lengths. The longest leg (7) bears a U-shaped cross-section support part which fits in the groove. The second (2) of the two parts also has a U-shaped cross section with different leg lengths, and the longest legs (7) of the two parts possess locking components which work in conjunction with each other in the assembled state. Also when assembled, the two short legs have facing end surfaces which encompass a glass plate (4).
