The ship, particularly a motor-ship, has one or more items of vibration-generating equipment, such as an engine, propeller etc., so mounted in the structure by means of isolators as to prevent transmission of vibration to the passengers and crews quarters, wheelhouse etc. The structure to which they are secured forms part of the hull stiffened by the frame, and separated from the rest of the hull by a joint.
