The invention relates to an arrangement for transferring energy needed for i.a. deep drilling into the ground, to a drilling rig for prospecting work under water, e.g. on the sea floor 4. According to the invention, a body 16, 29 is situated in the drilling rig 1, said body being arranged to generate energy while being displaced by means of a line 13 from a boat 7 anchored above the drilling rig, in a direction against the action of a returning force, and returned to its point of departure by the returning force.
