METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING SANDIN THERMAL RECOVERY OF OIL FROM TAR SANDS(D#72,705-FB)ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA method and system is disclosed for producing oilfrom a subterranean reservoir of tar sands as unconsolidatedoil bearing sands. A screen is set in an open hole, thescreen being large enough to pass a majority of the forma-tion sand and small enough to retain a packing material, awash pipe is passed through the screen for connecting to ahorizontal or lateral nozzle in a hole in the bottom ofthe screen for washing out a cavity around the screen, aweight is dropped down the wash pipe for breaking off thenozzle for enlarging the screen bottom opening and a con-solidating gravel packing material is ejected through thelarge bottom opening for forming a consolidated gravel packaround the screen for primary production, or the gravelpack is agglomerated with chemicals as with resins, plastics,or jelly for secondary recovery production.-I-
