417D-132A CanadaAbstract of the DisclosureA novel enzymatic reagent system is provided for assay-ing for total cholesterol in a liquid containing cholesterol, cho-lesterol esters, oxygen and substances which appear to inhibit thereactions between the enzymes and cholesterol and/or cholesterolesters. The novel reagent system comprises an aqueous solution ofa buffering agent, cholesterol oxidase, cholesterol esterase, anda cationic surfactant in an amount sufficient to neutralize theeffect of the inhibiting agents.
