Abstract of the DisclosureSpent seed is regenerated in a magnetohydrodynamic power plantthrough the use of a dry method in which the seed is mixed with pulverizedcoal and formed into pellets. The pellets are raised to a temperaturebelow their melting point, and the spent seed, an alkali-metal sulfate,is reduced to the corresponding sulfide. The sulfide particles are thenfed to a fluidized bed through which carbon dioxide and steam are blown,the alkali-metal sulfide thereby being converted to the corresponding car-bonate, which is the desired seed material.C770610 - 1 -
