IMPROVED APPARATUS AND METHODFOR DETERMINING THE ATTRITIONPROPERTIES OF A MASS OF SOLIDPARTICLESABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREAn improved apparatus for determining the time rateof attrition of a mass of solid particles comprising a chamber;inlet and outlet providing for entrance and exit,respectively, to the chamber; a conduit providing communicationbetween the inlet and outlet; an impeller located in thechamber to urge solid particles from the inlet in the generaldirection of the sidewall of the chamber; and a motor toprovide rotation of the impeller.Improved simulation of solid particle attrition incommercial cyclone separators is obtained.
