THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER BLENDS OF ETHYLENE-PROPYLENE (EP) COPOLYMER WITH POLYETHYLENEABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREPolymer blends of (1) high molecular weightethylene-propylene (EP) copolymers having a high methylenerun index with (2) low density polyethylenes are preparedby physically mixing the polymer components under condi-tions of heat and shear. The resultant blends are thermo-plastic in nature and readily moldable and remoldable.The blends exhibit exceptionally high tensile strengthwithout the use of curing or crosslinking agents. Productsmade from the polymer blends include liners and moldedproducts such as tubing, toys, and household and automotiveitems.-1-
