This invention relates to benzodioxincarboxylic acid derivatives.;There are provided benzodioxincarboxylic acid derivatives of general formulawherein R' is an alkoxy group of from 1 to4 carbon atoms or a 2-propenylamino group, and R, which is attached at the 6- or 7-position of the benzodioxin ring system, is a substituent selected from formyl, acetamido, (hydroxyimino)methyl, 1-(hydroxyimino)ethyl, (methoxyimino)methyl, 1-(methoxyimino)ethyl, -(hydroxyimino)benzyl, benzamido and 2-methyl-4-thiazolyl, processes for their preparation; lipogenesis inhibiting compositions containing them and the preparation of such compositions.;Benzodioxincarboxylic acid derivatives of general formula I have exhibited lipgenesis inhibiting activity.
