Device for preheating the intake air of an internal combustion engine during the cold starting phase

In the air filter (1) a heating cartridge (3) is fitted in the air intake pipe (2) by means of a bracket (4). The cartridge is connected to the vehicle battery (10) by way of a cable and a switch (8). A red pilot light (9) indicates when the device is switched on. Due to the heat of the cartridge the intake air is warmed and the normal engine speed is attained shortly after starting. The time taken to reach the normal speed depends on the cartridge power output and the outdoor temperature. The device only comprises few parts and can be rapidly and easily fitted, thereby ensuring a low purchase and fitting cost. IMAGE
