摘要
A dye contg. a non-volatile or mildly volatile shrinking or carbonising agent (e.g. bis-beta-cyanoethyl formamide, o-phenylphenol or diphenylic ether) is applied (e.g. by embossed rollers) to the pile surface of a fabric in predetermined areas according to a geometrical pattern; fabric is vapour treated (e.g. at 100 degrees C for 30 mins) so that the shrinking agent contracts the pile fibres e.g. polyacrylonitrile, modacrylic, or poly-(as-dicyanoethylene) in the predetermined areas to produce a relief pattern. There is 60-100 g of shrinking agent to 1 kg of dye. Pref. the pile fibres are 5-100 mm long. The method is used to produce a more realistic synthetic fur which has the appearance of several pelts stitched together.
