The clamp or holder for use as a bracket in orthopaedic work on jaws, has two flat gluing or welding flanges (1, 2) with a holding eye (3) between. The shoulder (4) of the eye accommodates the wire, and is secured by a rotary locking device. The eye and flanges can have a u-shaped cross-section, the device being parallel to the flange plates, with its locking boss swinging into engagement between them. Plate springs can be used to hold the pivoting locking device by friction. The eye can have a lengthwise groove for raising springs between the falnge plates, and the device can also be drilled to accommodate these springs.
