The sample book covers (1, 2) are separated from one another and are joined together only by the insert (3). The book covers are fastened to opposite ends of the insert and the insert carries samples on the front and rear sides. The covers may be fastened detachably to one another by means of burr strips (5). The covers may have opposing reinforcements (4) on their insides parallel to two outer margins and the burr strips are attached to these reinforcements.
