A machine keyboard input facility allows dimensions to be entered in fractional form, followed by conversion and display in decimal format. A keyboard input (1) consists of ten numbered keys plus arithmetic operation keys. If a number, e.g. 5 1/2,is to be entered, the sequence of operations is that the integer (5) is entered first. The divide key is operated followed by the 1, the divide key again and then the 2 key. A built in processor (3) converts the entered data and provides a decimal display to three places.
