The articulated saddle trailer assembly is intended for transporting a heavy load eg. an armoured vehicle over rough terrain. It comprises a traction vehicle having a front axle with steerable wheels and at least one driven rear wheel axle and a saddle trailer with a number of rear axles. The track widths of the axles are so arranged that their respective wheels run in a common track. The front wheels may have the same track width when travelling in a straight line. The front wheels may have smaller-dia tyres than the other wheels.
