The hot water boiler with a recuperative system for heat given off by the flue gases, has a secondary hot water tank enclosing the flue gas outlet. This is connected by pipes with the main tank, including a valve and a pump, dependent on the water temperature. The flue gas outlet contains a heat exchange coil through which water is circulated from the secondary tank by another pump. The cold water entry end of a supply pipe for the main tank passes through a further heat exchanger coil inside the secondary tank. The water in the secondary tank can be pumped in either direction dependent on its temperature.
