Integrated economical hotplate uses the heat radiated from the unused sides to supplement the energy used in the cooking. The cooking utensil is made with a circumferential extension at the bottom, which will surround the sidewall of the hotplate. The shape of the extension can have a conically diverging outer surface with a straight inner surface. Both the inner surface and the base of the cooking utensil can have a concave shape.
