Folding rear seat safety belt - has belt retractor fitted in upper part of seat back rest

The seat belt system for use on folding rear seats is a three point anchorage design applied to each rear seat individually. The system consists of a diagonal strap (7) with one end connected to an automatic seat belt retractor mechanism (8) fitted inside the upper part of the seat back rest (3). The strap (7) leaves the back rest space through a slot (9) and is threaded through an eyelet (11) with a locking plate on its end engaging with a lock (10) fitted to one end of a length of strap, the other end of which is fixed at a point (12) to the vehicle floor. The strap (7) after leaving the slot of the eyelet (11) is fixed with its end (13) to a suitable point on the vehicle body side wall.
