In light wave conductors comprising a thin interface (TS) coated with an elastomer cushioning layer (EP), the cushioning layer surface is coated with a fluoropolymer friction layer (GS) contg. particles which are partly embedded in elastomer cushioning layer, partly sintered to one another and partly loose. The interface, having thickness no more than a few microns, consists of a water-insoluble but organic solvent-soluble material, esp. of (i) soluble lacquer, e.g. nitrolacquer or acetate lacquer, (ii) cellulose acetate or cellulose butyrate, (iii) an oily or waxy size, e.g. of paraffin oil or of a less than 1 microns-thick silicone oil layer. Adhesion to cushion surface and friction-less displacement are improved.
