The adjustment system has an electric drive (26) to adjust the height and/or inclination of the headrest (12). The drive is controlled by a controller (68) containing a programmable memory (70) that sets a preprogrammed headrest position on receipt of a call signal initiated by the driver. An electronic adjustment system for adjusting seat height and/or inclination may be coupled to the system controlling the headrest. The drive motor is coupled via a flexible shaft to gearing.
