摘要
In a drying and finishing process for fibre and yarn packages whereby heated compressed air is circulated through the material, water vapour is precipitated from the air by cooling in a water spray, after which the air is re-heated before re-circulation. Waste water from other processes may be used for the cooling spray, alternatively, finishes may be applied to the yarn or fibre by adding the required chemicals, etc., to the spray. The re-circulated air has a controlled moisture content, to avoid over-drying the material, and leave it with a uniform moisture regain. The water spray is more effective and efficient than an indirect heat exchanger for cooling and drying the air-stream. The process allows the moisture content of the air, and the yarn, to be kept under control, and also enables the simultaneous application of finishes to the material.
