Multi-storey car park for vehicles - has cylindrical tower with helical double-lane entry-exit ramp

The multistorey car park consist of a cylindrical tower with a helical ramp and parking spaces located radially. Alternatively, the parking areas may be a conventional rectangular building with several floors and helical ramps may be located one at each end. In this case the rising turns of the helix are semicircular whilst each turn is completed by a horizontal semicircular path on the floor concerned. Photocell detectors are used at the ends of the horizontal ramp positions to detect the presence or absence of a vehicle.
