Low-cost energy generation - from free falling liquid recycled by evaporation to initial level

A liquid is dropped down a pipe to drive a turbine, coupled to a generator for the prodn. of electric power. The liquid is circulated in a closed circuit by being raised to its initial level through evaporation. The energy supply for the evaporation comes from a heat pump which extracts the heat from the earth itself. The pref. liquid gas has a high specific gravity and low specific heat, for example trichlorofluoromethane with a liquid-gas change point at 24 deg.C. The heat pump can be replaced by solar heat collectors. This saves oil, gas and coal and provides energy at low cost. It causes no environmental pollution by exhausts or smoke.
