摘要
The circuit has electrode rods (1,2) driven into the face of the clay at 1-4 m intervals. The rods are driven into the clay a distance of 2-6 m. Alternate rods are connected to the positive pole of a voltage supply whilst the remaining rods are connected to the negative pole therefore become cathodes and water collects in their vicinity. The cathode rods may be hollow and connected to a water pipe (7) which carries the water away. The pipe is connected to a suction pump. The voltage supply is at least 10V. This method of drying out the clay to make it rigid and able to bear loads can be applied to any excavation work in clay.
