Applying decorative element to vehicle bodies - by coating element and vehicle with adhesive, applying element and overcoating with clear lacquer

Decorative, pictorial, written or similar film-like elements (I) are applied to vehicle bodies by coating the reverse side of (I) and the vehicle body with a clear lacquer esp. acrylic lacquer, adhesive layer, and applying (I) to the vehicle body after the adhesive layers have dried. A clear lacquer esp. a polyester lacquer is then applied to (I) and neighbouring areas of the vehicle body. (I) has improved adhesion to the vehicle body, and a life at least as long as that of exterior paint.
