The drilling machine comprises a flagstone or tile support plate with a workpiece clamping bracket above. A tool holder is rigidly secured to the support plate and has an arm protruding above the workpiece centre. A hand-crank operated tool spindle, with a radial tool holder at the bottom end, is thrust downwards against spring action, and has at the top end a tapped hole for the crank fixing screw. The screw can be replaced by the screwed end of a shaft (15), gripped in thechuck (27) of a portable electricdrill. The shaft can be of hexagonal section, where it fits in the chuck.
