HV screened cable right angled terminating bush - has plug with cover and embedded screening, and capacitive measuring electrodes

The bush (1) has a plastics body (2) enclosed by a metal housing (3) and a connecting element (4) for the cable core embedded in it. At right angles to the cable, a tapered block (5) fills an opening in the body. This block has a flange covered by a metal cover (8) which is secured by screws to the flanged opening of the metal housing. Embedded in the block is a screening electrode (6) shaped to partly enclose the protruding stem of the connecting element. Between the end of the stem and the interior of the screening electrode is a flat plate (9) forming a capacitative measuring element. This has a branch extending rearwards through the metal cover to a connection point (10).
