The circuit uses a longer interval for marking the end of a signal than that normally present between pulses. The number of pulses determines the signal length. The pulses and intervals are determined using time evaluation using the clock frequency of an oscillator that is a multiple of the step length of the pulse frequency. Time evaluation and counting members are provided such that, after a given number of clock signals, marking takes place.
